A historical look back on the humble beginnings of LFC Pittsburgh.

How did LFC Pittsburgh start?

Prior to the 2011-12 EPL season, "LFC Pittsburgh" existed only as a Facebook page with minimal 'likes' and little to no group involvement, other than a few random people sporadically going to Piper's Pub on a matchday morning. Although there was not much structure, a few gentlemen started recognizing each other every match wearing Liverpool red and struck up a conversation. Those 3 were Jody Fleming (Loaf), Dan Drummond and Ben Cole. The 3 had an idea...take up where the current FB page left off and really start a supporters club.

When we started researching the other OLSC's. During the 2012-13 season, we were told that Liverpool FC was not longer accepting new applications for Official Supporters Clubs. As time went on, the numbers at Piper's grew, as did the Twitter and Facebook followings until Loaf received an email during the 2013-14 season stating that LFC was again accepting applications to become an OLSC.

We needed 15 official members and 50 total members to apply. Loaf and Dan scoured Piper's for as many LFC fans as possible. Thanks to their tireless efforts, we had more than the minimum numbers required and Loaf sent in the application.

On November 3, 2014, Liverpool FC extended an offer of OLSC Status for LFC Pittsburgh which we hurriedly accepted. We hope to continue to grow and become the best OLSC that we can possible be.
